Often confused with advertising and sales, marketing is the process of teaching consumers why they should choose one product over another; it's everything the consumer encounters when it comes to a business.
The public is more familiar with bad design than good design. It is, in effect, conditioned to prefer bad design, because that is what it lives with. The new becomes threatening, the old reassuring.
When you dabble in marketing, it doesn't work. Consistency takes a business to the next level in marketing. It means no longer convincing consumers to buy a product or service.
You've created impeccable online and mobile marketing materials for your clients. You've been building brands and increasing sales for hundreds of companies. You've distinctly differentiated your clients from their competition through beautifully designed, well planned and strategically placed marketing. Now let's showcase them.
There are plenty of online advertising competitions and awards. But Marketing, not so much. What is the REAL difference between marketing & advertising? Advertising is just subset, of marketing. Public relations, media planning, product pricing and distribution, sales strategy, customer support, market research and community involvement are all parts of comprehensive marketing efforts.
For those that understand the difference between marketing and advertising, and create full-on campaigns for your clients, this competition is for you.
According to the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB), internet advertising revenues in the United States totaled $72.5 billion for the 2016 calendar year. This was $12.9 billion (21.8%) higher than the previous year's results. This was the result of increases in mobile digital advertising. IAB surveys the market every quarter. Their most recent quarterly result is for Q1 2017. This showed U.S. digital advertising revenues in Q1 to be 19.6 billion, the highest first-quarter revenue ever recorded. This shows 23% growth of the same period last year.
As this figure increases, creative agencies need ways to objectively demonstrate to prospective clients their ability to create impeccable online and mobile marketing materials. Earning and adding "Award Winning" to your process by winning awards is one excellent way to accomplish this.
The Internet Marketing Competition was founded to establish a high standard for both marketing online and corporate web development. Staffed by volunteers, IMC is made up of design professionals, Internet marketing, Marketing, and Public Relations professionals who each have an interest in improving the quality of marketing and promotion methods used to attract visitors to corporate Web sites.
The Internet Marketing Competition is designed so that companies and individuals can enter their best work to be judged head to head against other work in its industry. The IMC Awards recognizes outstanding online Marketing in all of its various forms.
Now more than ever, online marketing is a competitive space. As professionals in this field, you must continuously validate your efforts and provide clients with feedback as to the ROI and quality of the work being performed. Clients see the merit in "award-winning." The term "award-winning" also helps you stand out from the crowd and those still using dated methods with no real value. A list of awards can help to obtain new clientele while helping establish or maintain your expertise.
Read the guidelines to get a better understanding of how the competition operates and then submit your information and enter your campaign into the next Internet Marketing Competition.
All winners will receive a trophy to display or an Achievement certificate. You will have also earned the right to say you have created “award-winning” Marketing campaign(s)! All winners will receive an award page that recognizes their achievement.

Note: The deadline for entering the Internet Marketing Competition Awards, is January 31, 2019.
The Internet Marketing Competition (IMC) Awards were developed to honor excellence in Online Marketing, by recognizing the individuals and organizations responsible for creating amazing work, and to showcase the award-winning Internet Marketing.
The Internet Marketing Competition is open to all organizations and individuals involved in the process of developing all forms of Internet Marketing. Ads eligible for entry must have run at some time during the period from January 1, 2018 until January 31, 2019.
The person who submits the entry becomes the "nominator" and will receive all communications regarding the Awards. The nominator will be the only person allowed to make changes to the entry data once it is submitted.
Entries must be accessible online via a single URL. All contestants must submit their applications using the official IMC Entry Form online. To access the entry form, you first need to create a free account. This account allows you to enter multiple entries without having to re-enter your contact information each time and will be the central point of communications for your entries.
Entries should be submitted on a single HTML page containing your creative and each element of the campaign or a URL leading directly to the website or creative element. The page may be password protected (provided you enter this information on the entry form) and available to the IMC judges. The page submitted must show the creative to be judged for that entry only. Providing more than one page per entry can resort in disqualification. However, entries may include a link to a URL to show how the campaign was implemented in use if still live. It is essential that the judges be able to determine precisely what creative is to be reviewed with each entry. Therefore, it is strongly suggested to include direct links to the entry instead of a single page for all of your entries.
Applications not containing a valid URL link to the entered campaigns may be disqualified. A campaign is considered entered after a completed Entry Form is logged by the IMC servers and the entry fee and been paid before the competition deadline. Once processed, the nominator will receive an email receipt confirming the entry, and it will be reflected in the nominator account.
The Internet Marketing Competition judges represent all aspects of the Marketing and Internet worlds. Entries will be judged on the judging criteria and compete head-to-head with other entries within their specific category.
Our judges are experienced professionals with an in-depth understanding of the current state-of-the-art in Marketing design and technology and the objectivity to score entries according to a predefined set of criteria. They represent some of the best the Internet Marketing community has to offer.
